Feyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.
Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.
With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas’s masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.
My review :
I’m super impressed by Maas’s writing style. The building of the world she created, and how she described every detail of the characters’ traits, it’s impressive. And for sure, I went head over heels for Rhysand.
Feyre Cursebreaker, I like that name. But to be frank, she’s not one of my favourite lead females. And to be honest again, I pity Tamlin for some reason. I mean, he’s in love with Feyre–really really in love with her. But what he did to her was unforgivable for Feyre.
Locking her up in the manor, Tamlin thought it’s the best way to keep Feyre safe from their enemies. And in the end, Rhys took Feyre away from him, teaching him a lesson for what he’d done was wrong.
I’ve always liked Tamlin in the first book, but Rhysand is on a whole new level. He’s notorious and cute and cool and kind at the same time. Oh, Rhys is perfect.
But……….I despise the way Maas describes every single detail of them making love, I mean–it’s a YA book?? And I felt so uncomfortable reading those parts–so I skipped a few pages. It’s better that way.
Overall, it’s a good book. I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads, which is not great, as I’ve had high expectations for this book. Anyway, I’m looking forward to reading the 3rd book of the series.
